Pre-Summit Academic Workshop Underway
For the first time during a Global Voices Summit we're hosting an academic workshop called “Digital Media and Disruptive Publics”. David Faris of the Meta-Activism Project relates the first day of events.

Kenyan Bloggers Competition: Meet the Winners
Global Voices offered six bloggers based in Kenya the opportunity to attend the Global Voices Citizen Media Summit 2012 for free. To compete for one of the six spots, Kenyan bloggers had to write a blog post on the topic "How citizen media can help ensure peaceful elections in Kenya in 2012-13."
Before the Summit, We Meet in Private
In the three days leading up to the Global Voices Summit, around 160 authors, editors, translators and others involved in the daily operation of Global Voices will be gathering in private for an internal meeting.
