The Rise of Online Citizen Media
The theme for this year's Global Voices Summit is the cataclysmic rise of online citizen media over the past years, and especially in 2011. Are we a global movement now? And what do we wish to see happen next?
Global Voices Summits
Global Voices convenes a biennial Summit which brings together contributing members with a wider community of global bloggers, technologists, scholars, journalists and others interested in sharing ideas on developments in online citizen media spearheaded by people around the world. Previous Summits have taken place in London, New Delhi, Budapest, and Santiago.
Meeting face to face
The Summit also provides an opportunity for contributors to Global Voices – who live all over the world – to meet in person and discuss the future direction of the organization in an internal (closed) two-day meeting.
Location
This year's Summit takes place in Nairobi, Kenya at the Pride Inn Raphta Road, Raphta Road, Westlands.
The Summit hotels are all full at the moment. If you are seeking accommodation, please try the Jacaranda Hotel in Westlands.
